Solvent-cleaning performance depends on the wiping material, solvent, substrate, soil, application method, and validated procedure. A general statement that a product is solvent resistant does not prove compatibility with every chemical or surface.
Define the chemistry
Record the exact solvent and concentration, including whether IPA is used neat or in a water blend. Confirm purity, dispensing method, contact time, ventilation, storage, and facility safety controls outside the product-selection decision.
Check both wiper and substrate
The wiping material must tolerate the chemistry without unacceptable degradation or extractables. The cleaned component, coating, adhesive, marking, and finish must also be compatible. Validate on representative parts before routine use.
Review sorption and residue data
Sorptive rate describes how quickly a test liquid is taken up under a defined method; capacity describes the amount held. NVR reports residue extracted by a stated liquid. Compare test methods and units before drawing conclusions.
Q-Leap options with documented solvent information
