How to Choose a Cleanroom Mop System

General selection guidance · Review current SKU-specific product data before qualification.

A mop head is one component of a cleanroom cleaning system. Evaluate the head, frame, handle, attachment, bucket or solution-delivery method, wringer, chemistry, surface, and validated technique together.

Define surfaces and reach

List floors, walls, ceilings, coving, corners, and equipment surfaces. Measure clearances and determine whether broad flat contact, conformability, or access around obstacles is the priority.

Compare mop-head formats

Tubular string heads and flat foam-backed heads distribute liquid and contact surfaces differently. Q-Leap's launch range includes:

  • SM-0019: reusable tubular microfiber string mop, 77 × 34 cm, ISO Class 5–8 compatible.
  • PFM-003-14: pocket-style textured polyester/foam head, approximately 14.96 × 4.13 inches, ISO Class 5–8 and USP <797> compatible.
  • PFM-004-18: 18-inch cloth/foam head for broad controlled surfaces; no SKU-specific ISO class is currently published.

Review liquid handling

Use SKU-specific sorptive capacity and rate where available. Confirm the chemistry, wetting or dispensing method, target surface, and required contact time under the facility procedure.

Confirm hardware

Verify frame dimensions, attachment method, handle, wringer, bucket, and replacement procedure. PFM-003-14 does not include a frame or handle. Do not assume cross-compatibility from size alone.

Plan for single use or reuse

If a head is reusable, define laundering, drying, inspection, storage, and retirement criteria. SM-0019 is documented as reusable; that statement does not automatically apply to the PolyFoam heads.

Check documentation and packaging

Review cleanroom compatibility, sterility, packaging, and sell unit for the exact SKU. Qualify the complete system in the intended cleaning process.
